2008 - 09 Season

Grooming Ministik - Jan 20 & 21, 2009
Our $100,000,00 Bombardier BR 180 is ready and on the trails grooming
These men volunteer long hours day & night to provide safer trails for your enjoyment
Wave as you go by to show your appreciation of their hard work.
Please do not ride on the groomed trail for at least 4 hours after grooming - it takes that long for the trail to refreeze hard again.
Not sure - walk on the trail if your boot sinks into the trail it is still freshly groomed -- so ride beside it as much as possible
A hard trail last 4 times long than it you ride it when soft.

Hay Lakes Trail System
Tri-County has signed Landowner agreements with the farmers and landowners from the town of Hay Lakes to Centennial Park Campgrounds on Joe Lake on the south west side of the Ministik trail system.
This trail now links the Town of Hay Lakes to the Ministik Trail System and they can ride right from town into the park.
The landowners signed an agreement for
--- Snowmoibles only on their land - NO QUADS -(the land owner can charge a quadder under the 2004 Petty Trespass Act - first offence $2000.00 second offence $5000.00)
--- All snowmobilers must stay on the trail - there may be some equipment in the fields, contamination of dirt from one field to another, minimize damage to the crop filed, --- basically there are many reasons the landowners want you to stay one the trail and if we do not we will lose the right to ride there and the trail will be closed!!!!

With a crew of 11 men on each of Nov 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, Dec 6
This year we had a great turn out for trail maintenance.  Every one had a good time as many hands make light work.
We cleaned about 1/2 of the trail system completely to the ground of any trees and branches and the other half cleaned just the major obsticles.  Will get the remainder next season

CAUTION - Huge ice heaves and pressure ridges

Ridges are 2' to 3' high
