Destination Rides
What is a Destination Ride?
Tri-County uses Destination Rides to introduce our members to
other ASA Club Trail Systems.
The ASA Trail Pass you buy at the start of the season entitles you to ride on
all the ASA Trails in Alberta for as long as they keep their trails open.
By doing this we all have a chance to experience other club trails besides our
own. Other ASA Clubs will maintain their trail systems and provide you
with a safer better experience than if you just head out riding through the
ditches or bush.
Generally a Destination Ride is about 1.5 hour from Edmonton. Ie Whitecourt,
Swan Hills, Iron Horse Trail.
Tri-County will setup a date with another club and schedule a ride at their
trail system for a specific date. That gives the club a chance to groom
the trail prior to the ride. Also to have some of their members available
that day to guide the ride. So if all worked out and the weather
co-operates it makes for a great day.
Depending on the direction of the destination club ride a
meeting time and location will be set up on the event page. It is very
important that you call the Destination Ride Co-coordinator handling that ride
so they know how many are coming and no one gets lost.
Almost all Destination Rides are a 1 day ride. Leave Edmonton by 7:00am
and return to Edmonton by about 6-7:00pm.
To find out the Destination Ride dates refer to the
Current Events Calendar under Events.
NOTE - Check the Hotline and Website Friday to see it the ride
is cancelled due to temperature or snow conditions.
